FilmLight & Sony present… Working in HDR Workshop
In conjunction with our long-standing partner Sony, you are invited to a special presentation on Wednesday, March 23rd.
High dynamic range (HDR) displays and projectors have arrived, and with the blacker blacks, glinting highlights, and wider color gamut come new challenges for mastering while continuing to support existing TVs and cinema projectors.
FilmLight and Sony will demonstrate HDR technologies and workflows, using the Baselight color grading system alongside the BVM-X300 mastering monitor to illustrate the advantages and pitfalls of various approaches to HDR grading.
Covering the creative aspects of working in HDR, renowned Deluxe Colorist David Bernstein will share his insights and experiences mastering 4K and HDR films for Sony Pictures. Peter Postma, Managing Director of Americas at FilmLight, will discuss the technical aspects of working in HDR, with an overview of current HDR systems, requirements for mastering in HDR and how they are addressed using the Baselight toolset.
