VFX Editing - Morning Seminar

This 3 hour course will cover the basics of VFX Editing.  From temp composites, to tracking, and facilitating communication between VFX and editorial.  Other topics include:

• The Role of VFX Editing in storytelling
• The Role of the Assistant Editor / VFX Editor
• Determining VFX from DI effects
• Planning ahead to build comps efficiently
• Compositing techniques
• Rotoscoping
• Pulling a key
• Converting a key to a hold out matte and how that can be beneficial

 Instructor Info

Richard Sanchez has been an assistant editor for nine years, from unscripted television, to scripted television and features.  Richard recently assisted on The Good Place season 1 and the upcoming Netflix feature, Naked.

Ethan Henerey joined Local 700 as an Apprentice Editor in 2005, Assisted in features and documentaries for several years, and has worked primarily as a Visual Effects Editor for the last 7 years, with recent credits on Pete's Dragon, Power Rangers, and Jumanji, due for release in late 2017.
