This is one workshop session with a ½ hour break from 2:00pm – 2:30pm
Session: 10:00AM – 6:00PM
Note: 5-6 hours of structured instruction + up to 2 hours of hands-on free time depending on student interest level
This course is open to 5 active members from the picture editorial classification who know their way around AVID Media Composer but want to tackle difficult temp comps more quickly.
This course is designed to give Editors, Assistant Editors, and Picture Editing Room Assistants strategies for improving the speed and efficiency of some of the most common temp VFX that come up in the edit room. It will help with tracking, multi-element monitor inserts, pulling better green/bluescreen keys, and taking some of the pain out of AniMatte rotoscoping.
1. Painting out tracking markers as an intro to tracking tool
2. Submasters for monitor comps
3. Tips for tracking
4. Refining keys with spectramatte
5. Rotoscoping 101
Christian is a VFX and Assistant Editor based in New York, and has done an eye-numbing number of Avid temp composites on both features and episodic projects. Recent VFX credits include Marco Polo, Quantico, and the upcoming Purge 3: Election Year. He loves the opportunity to teach other members how to work smarter not harder in VFX.
