Shifting from Assistant Editor to Editor involves not only a new job classification, but it beckons a change in perspective as well.
Aimed at newly bumped-up editors of scripted television series, this Leadership Workshop will provide time-tested tips and advice from seasoned pros about navigating your first jobs as Editor, as well as a refresher of the union labor agreement.
New Editors will have the chance to learn problem-solving strategies and hear war stories from veterans as well as their peers.
Co-sponsored by American Cinema Editors (ACE), this inaugural session will be led by the following editors:
- Susan Vaill, ACE - This Is Us, Lodge 49, Grey’s Anatomy
- Monty DeGraff, ACE - The Man In the High Castle, Narcos, Daredevil
- Luyen "Lu" Vu, ACE - American Crime, The 100, Fringe
- Lizzy Calhoun - Animal Kingdom, American Woman, Nashville
This is the inaugural kickoff of what the Membership Outreach Committee hopes will become an annual event.
Workshop will be limited to a maximum of 26 participants, open to Guild Members who have changed classification in the past 3 years from Assistant Editor to Editor on narrative scripted drama or comedy series.
Coffee and snacks will be served. We look forward to seeing you!
