What to Expect:

In this assessment class, we will evaluate your understanding of key programming concepts and ensure that you have the necessary setup for the course.

Topics covered will include:

  • Setting up Visual Studio and Python
  • Navigating your file system
  • Using the terminal/command prompt effectively
  • Checking and verifying your Python version
  • Running basic Python commands

 

Preparation Checklist:

1. Install Visual Studio 

2. Know Where Your Files Are

3. Be Familiar with Your System’s Terminal

4. Check Your Python Version

  • Open Integrated Terminal in Visual Studio and run:

python --version

or

py -3

In this course, you should be using one of these versions of Python versions 2.7 or 3.9.


If you have a different version, then some example code may not work exactly the same.

Ensure you’re using Python 2.7 or 3.9 for this assessment.
